another weekend in calgary with 606.

we went to a wedding and the zoo.

we ate, drank and made merry, but were not quite as vigourous or thorough in our merriment as Leona was.

easter weekend, we took a desert castle DreamHome reality tv show trip to jasper national park. but that's another story.

today, megpye and i went to elk island national park and stalked the wildlife.

since her arrival, i have been eagerly awaiting the chance to go skating.
today we were ready to mount a skating expedition.

sometimes i feel like this town has no idea of it's history.

in 1795, fort edmonton was founded by the hudson's bay trading company.

when i went back to ontario for new year's and my birthday i participated in part of cobourg's unique culture.
i stood vigil with my parents on the highway of heroes as another canadian soldier was brought home from afganistan.

when i asked my boss why all of our shipments were late (i'm mistress of grocery in my current job) he replied, "the weather is pretty bad in the mountains. there has been a couple avalanches and so the kok - a - holla pass is blocked."

TEH WHAT?!?

i laughed until i was in stitches. then i realized he was serious.

the coquihalla pass was blocked. no trucks were getting through from vancouver. nothing to do but sit pretty and wait for the snows to stop.
